From Radio Kerry:
Kerry North West Limerick Sinn Fein TD Martin Ferris has refused to condemn the actions of dissident republicans at the funeral of Real IRA boss Alan Ryan on Saturday. Gardai believe they know the identity of most of those who took part in the display outside Alan Ryan's home in Donaghmede on Dublin's Northside. Gardai also believe that he was shot dead by an organised crime gang. Deputy Ferris says the practice of firing a volley of shots over the coffin is outdated and there is no need for militant republicanism because of the peace process. He believes his time is better spent advancing the peace process than condemning the actions of groups that have no mandate and no support. Meanwhile,Fine Gael Listowel Town Councillor and former Garda sergeant, Tim O'Leary says Deputy Ferris should condemn the incident, which he described as highly provocative.
