From Radio Kerry:
Talks are continuing between management and union representatives in a bid to save jobs at a mid Kerry plant. 30 people are employed at the Simpson Strong-Tie Liebig facility in Killorglin. Last week, staff were informed the parent company had decided to leave the site before the end of the year. The plant, which provides metal work solutions for all aspects of the construction industry, is then to be sold as a going concern. It's understood the jobs could be saved if contracts are secured in the coming weeks. Talks between management and SIPTU representatives are continuing.
