The new Tralee Bypass should feature signs highlighting the vibrancy of the town, and its main features and attractions. The call comes from Cllr Jim Finucane who said after the Castleisland bypass opened, traders raised concerns about the impact on business from the lack of signage for the town centre. There were no signs indicating Castleisland town centre at the Limerick Road roundabout, as the NRA said it would be unsafe; however signage has since been erected.
Kerry County Council says all junctions on the Tralee bypass, which is due to open next year, will have signs for the town centre. It'll also consult with the NRA about limited promotional signage, but says the council would most likely have to be fund this from its own resources.
